FAQs
What age is your venue suitable for?
Our soft play frames are suitable from 0-10 years and our role play town is suitable up to age 7. Unfortunately older siblings would have to remain in the cafe section and are not permitted in the role play section.
Are the play sessions supervised?
Our friendly staff are always on hand to make sure that our sessions run smoothly and safely however all children must be supervised by a responsible adult/guardian at all times.
Please note we have a large number of props in our roleplay, some toys may be small and need additional supervision. Particularly children under 3 years old.
Do I need to book before visiting?
In order to ensure an enjoyable experience for each child we limit the number of visitors per session. Therefore, although it’s not essential we do advise pre-booking to guarantee your space.
Can I rearrange my session?
All bookings are non-refundable however we understand the situations may arise where you need to change your session. Therefore we are able to transfer your session to another date providing 24 hours’ notice is given.
Can I wear shoes?
In order to maintain a high level of cleanliness no shoes are permitted within the play area and socks must be worn at all times. Should you require them, socks can be purchased for a small fee from reception. Shoe coverings are also available for adults should you prefer.
Is your venue wheelchair accessible?
Yes our softplay is wheelchair accessible and has disabled toilet facilities. Our roleplay playtown unfortunately is accessed via stairs only.
Can I bring my own food or cake?
With the exception of weaning babies we ask that no food or drink is brought into the premises. We have a café serving an array of hot and cold food cold drinks as well as snacks. We offer weaning platters as well as catering for allergies.
Cakes are only permitted if you have booked a party room with us. We ask that birthday cakes are nut free. No cakes are permitted on the main cafe floor to help us control allergens.
Can I take photos?
Of course! As long as you are only taking pictures of your own children then you are more than welcome to snap away. We even have a selfie wall for some photo opportunities and we would love for you to tag us in any photographs you upload.
Do we offer parties?
Yes we love a party here at Honeybees! If booking softplay you can choose between three of our themed rooms; unicorn, under the sea or safari.
Our roleplay offers private parties for just you and your group and we also offer private laser parties.
All parties can be booked online and require a non refundable 25% deposit to secure the booking with the final payment and all details finalised two weeks prior to your party date. Please contact us athello@honeybeesplaytown.co.uk if you would like us to check availability for exclusive parties and we can help you with any queries you may have.
Can I bring my pram?
Unfortunately due to limited space we would prefer if prams are not brought into our facility. Should you wish to, you are welcome to bring in car seats or alternatively we advise bringing a sling or baby carrier.
What if I’m late for my session?
You are still welcome to join in and stay for the remainder of the play session.
Can I arrive at any time?
We operate pre-defined play sessions to allow us time to tidy up in between, ensuring that every child gets to experience Honeybees at its best. You may turn up at any time during a play session but you will be required to leave at the end of that session even if you have not been there for the full 90 minutes.
What facilities do you provide for babies?
Baby changing facilities.
In our roleplay we have a dedicated baby play area for babies under 12 months which is centrally positioned within The Playtown so you are able to see siblings/other children playing. We also have a sensory room located beside the roleplay.
Our softplay has a dedicated 0-4 years area and also features items such as our sensory water bed.
Bottle & food warming plus highchairs. We offer weaning platters at our cafe.
Why do we run play sessions?
It came out loud and clear from our parent survey that one of parents’ dislikes is visiting overcrowded play facilities. With children of our own, we completely understand that. Offering play sessions at set times with spaces pre-booked online ensures we do not go over our capacity limit so we can offer you and your family the best possible play date. It is also allows us to close the facility for 30 minutes in between each play session to clean, tidy and sanitise for visitors arriving for the next play session.
Why do we play a Clean up song?
5 minutes prior to your session ending we will play the ‘Clean Up’ song and actively encourage you to put a few items back for us in the correct locations, to ensure that the next session runs as smoothly and is as magical as yours- it also acts as cue to the children that their session has ended preventing lots of tears!
Do Adults get to play?
Absolutely; it’s better that way. Children really benefit from having someone to interact with, because, ‘It takes 2 to role play’… Sometimes they will tell you what to do and other times they might just need a little sparkle of imagination from you to help set them off on a role play journey. If your child is a little shy at first, we recommend letting your child explore the various settings and see which one they feel comfortable to play in first; let them take the lead in how they play and be ready to play your supporting role.
